A handmade frame, gothic, macabre and quietly theatrical, for those who appreciate the finer things in death.

A hand-painted cast skull with a warm, aged finish rests against velvet within an ornate black oval frame. The reference piece pairs black velvet with silver detailing, contrasting with the golden tones of the skull.

Choose your velvet colour: Navy, Green, Purple, Black or Red. Choose your frame finish: Silver or Gold. The skull design and finish remain fixed.

As one of my more accessible designs, this piece has a simpler reverse, without velvet or lace. This keeps the focus on the decorative front while offering my handmade work at a gentler price.

The portrait had hung in the same narrow hallway for so long that nobody remembered whose face it once held. When the house was finally emptied, the frame was wrapped and carried away with the family silver. Its new owner cleaned the darkened ornament and found a name scratched into the back. It was her own, written in a hand she did not recognise.
