A handmade frame, gothic, macabre and quietly theatrical, for those who appreciate the finer things in death.

A hand-painted cast skull rests against black velvet above three silver-toned inverted crosses. The ornate black frame has silver detailing, an arched inner opening and a small decorative skull at its crown.

As one of my more accessible designs, this piece has a simpler reverse, without velvet or lace. This keeps the focus on the decorative front while offering my handmade work at a gentler price.

Lore

They gathered after midnight for a mass with no saints to call upon. Beneath three inverted crosses, they offered the child who had never drawn breath, believing a soul untouched by the world would purchase a greater favour.

The priest spoke its name only once. Each candle bent towards the empty cradle, though the chapel air was still. Then, from somewhere beneath the altar, came the soft creak of wood, as if someone had begun to rock it.

By morning, the congregation had gone. The cradle was still  warm.
