In the old villages of Bavaria, they will tell you — if they trust you, and if the hour is late enough — about the Wolpertinger. It lives deep in the forest, where the light does not reach and the moss grows over everything, including the things that should not be there. It has the skull of a rabbit, the antlers of a roe deer, the teeth of a fox, and the ribs of something that ran very fast and did not run fast enough. It is not dangerous. It is simply old — older than the names we have for things, older than the forest itself.

This piece is built from real bones: a real rabbit skull, real roe deer antlers and ribs, real fox teeth — arranged as the legend demands, on a bed of living moss and unfurling ferns, mounted on a dark ornate wooden frame. It is the Wolpertinger as it actually is: not a joke, not a tourist trinket, but a genuine forest relic from a creature that has always existed, just beyond the edge of what we are willing to believe.
