Anima Noctis | Whimsical

A one-of-a-kind handmade frame — whimsical, witchy and feminine, for those who find beauty in the things the forest leaves behind.

This frame holds a small world assembled from what darkness leaves behind: the skull of a bat, a mouse, a bird — each one no larger than a secret. Vertebrae of small mammals and a deer vertebra rest among the moss, quiet as stones. A glass bottle holds crystals of amethyst, catching the light in shades of violet. Quartz catches it differently — cooler, quieter. Mushrooms push through preserved moss. Pinecones and lichen mark the edges of things. Flowers in violet, orange and rose press in from all sides, as though the forest is trying to reclaim what was taken from it.

The back is finished with lace trim and bears the Morbid Oddities studio label.

The frame is entirely handmade from start to finish. I cast it myself from my own original moulds, then sand, paint and lacquer each piece by hand. The wooden back is sanded and lined with velvet, then finished with lace trim. No two frames are identical.
