Viridis Somnia | Toads & Lizards
A one-of-a-kind handmade shadowbox — whimsical, witchy and quietly unsettling, for those who find beauty in the strange things the forest leaves behind.
This composition features a real juvenile agama skeleton as its centerpiece, suspended above a hand-poured resin surface that mirrors the stillness of a forest lake. By the skeleton, a preserved Polyommatus icarus butterfly rests — wings open, caught mid-flight in a moment that will never end.
The oval window is framed by preserved moss, dried mushrooms, lichens and delicate flowers, creating a living world sealed in silence. The hand-cast, hand-painted baroque frame is finished in aged silver, sealed with hand-cut glass.

LORE
It did not drown.
It descended.
Into the green hush where light bends
and time forgets its name.
The skeleton holds its shape
like a prayer no one finished —
arms open, ribs spread,
a small cathedral of bone.
Below, the butterfly waits
in resin-amber stillness,
wings the colour of a sky
it will never see again.
The moss remembers everything.
The mushrooms keep the secret.
And the lake
does not give back
what it loves.
