The Apothecary | Witch's Library
A one-of-a-kind handmade shadowbox — whimsical, witchy and meticulously arranged, for those who keep their rarest specimens behind glass.
Two real preserved lantern bugs — Pyrops synavei and Pyrops pyrorhynchus — rest against an illustrated background of apothecary bottles and aged manuscript. Members of the family Fulgoridae, known as lantern bugs for their extraordinary elongated head projections, they are among the most striking insects in the world. Around them: a pigeon skull in a wizard's hat, a bat skull, a miniature glass dome with a mouse skull and lichen, a dragon skull, a crystal ball with a skeletal hand reaching above it, bottles of snake skin, raw quartz crystals, green aura crystals, dried flowers, moss, a carved pumpkin, spell books, scrolls and a wizard's hat — every detail the inventory of a witch who never stops collecting.
The frame is hand-built dark wood with hand-cut glass. The back is finished with black velvet, lace and a Morbid Oddities brand label.

LORE
The Apothecary keeps no records.
Everything is already labelled —
by wing pattern,
by the weight of a skull,
by the colour a crystal turns
when the right question is asked.
Pyrops synavei arrived first,
drawn by the bottles.
Pyrops pyrorhynchus followed,
drawn by the light
at the tip of its own nose.
They have not left.
Neither will you,
once you start reading
the labels.
